OXIDE is a dense and weathered work built through erosion, weight, and layered material. The dark surface is interrupted by rough passages of orange, grey, blue, and white, creating a tension between decay and persistence. The painting feels marked by pressure, as if it has been formed through time, corrosion, and accumulation rather than gesture alone.

What gives this piece its force is its material presence. The heavy texture gives it a raw physicality, and the darker central space creates pause and depth. Here, the mixed media is not simply a label; it is present in the actual experience of looking, shaping the work through surface, density, and interruption. I wanted the painting to feel exposed and compact at the same time, carrying a sense of damage, survival, and something still unresolved beneath the surface.
